چکیده

Aims. With the aim of finding microlensing binaries containing brown dwarf (BD) companions, we investigate survey data collected during 2016–2018 seasons. Methods. For this purpose, first modeled lensing events with light curves exhibiting anomaly features that are likely to be produced by binary lenses. We then sorted out BD companion binary-lens applying criterion companion-to-primary mass ratio is q ≲ 0.1. procedure, identify six candidate companions: OGLE-2016-BLG-0890L, MOA-2017-BLG-477L, OGLE-2017-BLG-0614L, KMT-2018-BLG-0357L, OGLE-2018-BLG-1489L, and OGLE-2018-BLG-0360L. Results. estimated masses companions conducting Bayesian analyses using observables individual events. According estimation lens masses, probabilities for OGLE-2016-BLG-0890, OGLE-2017-BLG-0614, OGLE-2018-BLG-1489, OGLE-2018-BLG-0360 in regime very high P > 80%. MOA-2017-BLG-477 KMT-2018-BLG-0357, relatively low = 61% 69%, respectively.

Finding Brown Dwarf Companions with HST/NICMOS

We present the results of a HST/NICMOS coronagraphic survey for the direct detection of substellar companions within the young TW Hydrae and Tucana Associations. At the distance of these associations, the lower mass limit of detection, based on models, is well into the high mass planet region for separations > 30 AU . Results presented here include spectra and proper motion verification of two ...

Brown Dwarf Binaries from Disintegrating Triple Systems

Binaries in which both components are brown dwarfs (BDs) are being discovered at an increasing rate, and their properties may hold clues to their origin. We have carried out 200,000 N-body simulations of three identical stellar embryos with masses drawn from a Chabrier IMF and embedded in a molecular core. The bodies are initially non-hierarchical and undergo chaotic motions within the cloud co...

The Brown Dwarf Mass Function from Pixel Microlensing

We argue that gravitational microlensing is a feasible technique for measuring the mass function of brown dwarf stars in distant galaxies. Microlensing surveys of the bulge of M31, and of M87 in the Virgo cluster, may provide enough events to differentiate the behaviour of the mass function of lenses below the hydrogen burning limit (though we find that M87 is a more favourable target). Such ob...

Brown Dwarf Companions to G - type Stars . I : Gliese 417

We present astrometric and spectroscopic observations confirming that two nearby G dwarf systems (Gliese 417 = BD+362162 and Gliese 584AB = η CrB AB) have a widely separated, L dwarf, substellar companion. Using age estimates of the G dwarf primaries, we estimate masses for these L dwarfs from theoretical evolutionary tracks. For the L4.5 dwarf Gl 417B we estimate an age of 0.08-0.3 Gyr and a m...

New brown dwarf companions to dM(e) stars

We present new astrometric and spectroscopic data to confirm two new M/L dwarf systems, G124-62 and LHS5166, and discuss the nature of a third system (LP261-75). Age and thus mass determinations of the L dwarf companions are discussed based on various activity-age relationships of the M dwarf primaries. This publication will update the list of widely separated substellar companions to nearby st...
